Company InformationIndustrialized Process is thermal treatment process applied to ores and other solid materials in order to bring about a thermal decomposition, phase transition, or removal of a volatile fraction. The calcinations process normally takes place at temperatures below the melting point of the product material. Calcination is to be distinguished from roasting, in which more complex gas- solid reactions take place between the furnace atmosphere and the solids.
The plant has been fully renovated/upgraded and modernized by the new management and made it to comparable to international standards in all its departments. It has a most modern laboratory and quality control system. The equipment includes Atomic Absorption Spectrometer, Carlo Ebra for mercury density, C02 Reactivity, HGI amongst others. Substantially large amount has been spent in modernizing and upgrading the plant making it comparable to international standards.
There are four raw coke storage silos for feeding the calciner which gives an excellent control on the feed pattern. The feed is automatically regulated to the desired blend. Calcined Coke from the calciner is stored in a bunker which has automatic bagging, weighing and stitching machine underneath. CPC is directly bagged and then stored avoiding any possibility of external contamination.
The plant has installed capacity of 93750 tons per annum and is located on a 30 acre plot of land. With modernization and up gradation which has been completed, the plant is capable of producing in excess of 100000 tons per annum. The location of the plant, being in the vicinity of the Haldia port, is ideal for importing the raw petroleum coke. There is enough storage capacity within the plant to store in excess of 50000 tons of raw coke. The plant also has a covered warehouse of over 20000 tons of Calcined coke storage.
